What's the difference between these two sentences?

"its many years since we first met"
"it was long since i had first seen her"

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

At the moment, both sentences are incorrect. Neither starts with a capital letter and you have not used a closing punctuation mark at the end. There is an apostrophe missing in sentence 1. In sentence 2, you failed to capitalise the word "I".

Please post your sentences again, with those corrections.

Please note that I have changed your thread title for two reasons:
1) Titles should include some/all of the words you are asking us about.
2) We don't use all capital letters in standard English. Online, it's the equivalent of shouting.
I have added your actual question to the body of your text.
