Hi all,

"It's too much expensive" What's wrong with this expression? I came across this while I was reading an IELTS speaking guide book. It said that "It's too much expensive" is incorrect and this "It's much too expensive" is correct. I have always been using this "It's too much expensive" in my life. Perhaps, I was wrong, so now I want to make sure about which is wrong and right.

Thanks.

The book is right.
It's expensive.
It's too expensive.
It's much too expensive.

I think 'too much' is correct in 'It costs too much money', but I am not a teacher.

Your example is different because money is a noun and expensive is an adjective.

I meant to show the OP that 'much too +adjective' and 'too much +noun' are correct.

Not a teacher.

I am really sorry Rover, I can't. I was brought up to never tell a lie and don't think I ever will. Point taken, though.
