I've but done voice-over work?

Hello,

I'm again transcribing a YouTube video,

...and I'm having problem with this one tiny part. It's on between 1:00 and 1:03, where I think the guy says,

"Man, look, I mean, I've but done voice-over work..."

I must have heard this wrong, because judging from the context, the 'but' shouldn't be there. The guy is basically saying he's done quite a few voice-over works but does not hold a candle to Morgan Freeman. If he indeed has said "but" there, he's saying he's done everything but voice-over work, and that doesn't go well with the overall context.

Possibly it has to do with the sound quality of the recording. In any case, it makes sense without the "but" and doesn't with it. In short, I agree with you. (Say: quite a bit of voice over work or quite a few voice over jobs.)

Ah thank you for pointing out the error, Tarheel. I did know there were two versions of the word, one countable and one uncountable, but I couldn't quite tell them apart, hence the error. Thanks to your correction, I finally got to kick my lazy butt and google the difference
