"Just leave" in my sentence

Does "I would just leave" sound natural in this context?

"If I saw a snake I would just leave."
 
I think I would expect a more startled reaction, such as "eek, I'm outta here!".

Yes, that's exactly what I am looking for. More natural phrases to use :).
 
If you did want to write your original sentence, you'd need a comma after "snake". A more natural context might be "If I saw my ex, I'd just leave!" I agree that people who are scared of snakes would have a somewhat more dramatic reaction!
