How do these sentences differ with one another in terms of its meaning?


I was just watching TV when the phone rang.
Just as I was watching TV, the phone rang.
I was already watching TV when the phone rang. (Is this sentence true?)

They are all unnatural. The first two would be OK without "just" and the third one would be good without "already"..

The following variants are correct:
1 - ?
2. "Just as I was sitting down to watch TV, the phone rang."
3. "Kate phoned me to tell me to turn on the TV, but I was already watching TV when the phone rang."

What about the first one?

If the first one means that you were not doing anything important, you were merely watching TV, then it's possible.
