Hi,
Sometimes. One forgets to take out the key from the bike key hole.
Is ''He left the key in the motor bike'' correct?

Or
He forgot to remove the key from his bike after his ride.
Your sentence could mean he left the key intentionally.

What about, ''He forgot the key in the bike''?

Can I also use ''unwind''?

This is acceptable in AE, but most BE speakers do not use this form.

I cannot imagine what 'unwind' has got to do with this thread.

So AusE is a variant of BrE?

I meant it's not acceptable in all the AEs.
It may be in AnguillanE, AntiguanE, AmericanE, but it's not in AusE.
It also may be acceptable in some BEs - ie. that of Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Britain, Botswana, etc.
