[Grammar] larger = large?

1. A is twice larger than B.
2. A is twice as large as B.

Does A mean the same as B or A is triple as large as B?

You would really only be able to say "A is larger than B". Only having said that would you be able to add more information, specifically that A is twice as large as B.

It's become common to use mathematical parlance here: 'A is larger than B by a factor of two', but that sort of jargon doesn't impress all of us - especially not when the speaker gets it wrong and says 'by a factor of twice' (a mercifully uncommon mistake, but one I've heard). ;-) I'd say something like 'A is larger than B - twice the size/twice as big'.
