My greetings!
Checking a student's home report, I decided to correct the sentence "Classes last 45 minutes" for "Classes last for 45 minutes". Then I thought for a while, and looked it up in the Longman Exams Dictionary. It gave both possible. Which one should I choose: leaving as it is or correct the student's sentence?

It's perfectly acceptable in BrE to omit "for" in such sentences.

Classes last [for] an hour.
The course lasts [for] ten weeks.
My birthday celebrations lasted the whole weekend.

When you said "home report", did you mean "homework"?
