"If we agree on the terms, you're going to have to leave the driving us."

Can I leave something someboby or I have to stick to leave something to somebody?

It has to be '. . .leave the driving to us'.

I've just been watching a Canadian series Flash Point. And a guy in it said "Leave the driving us". Would it be a native-like mistake?

No. It's the sort of thing devious people plant on the internet knowing that one day an ostap will come along and find it.

Flash point. Episode 10. Would there be an intended meaning? If it's wrong, I won't be using it.

Rover told you the appropriate form in post #2. Why do you always insist on finding examples of the unnatural?

I believe Canadians speak good English? And so do the members of a specila response unit?

Keep going, ostap. I am going through one of those occasional periods when I just get so frustrated by your determination to go for the wrong thing that I shall not bother for a while. Not to worry. There are plenty of people around with more patience than I.

Hey! Brits are not supposed to be so hot blooded.

It's wrong so don't use it.

I have taken the trouble to find the subtitle file for the episode on the web and it's "to us" in it.

I would be mighty oblidged if you would take your time to listen to the actual episode. I need to be proved wrong!!!!

Whatever you heard is of no importance. If you did, indeed, hear "leave the driving us," just forget about it. You've been told that it's wrong and nobody says it, whether it be in Canada, the US or Western Samoa. Why beat a dead horse?

It could be a matter of the pronunciation- it could become /draɪvɪŋtʌs/, which might make it hard to hear.
