You can't expect a stranger to compose a letter to your father telling him about your plans.

To be fair, the first post didn't say "Write a letter to my father ...". It said "your father". I find it rather odd that a complete stranger on this forum is demanding that I write to my dad, who would be very surprised to receive anything other than a phone call, email or visit from me.
