The Longman Pronunciation Dictionary gives /ʃ/ as the pronunciation of 26% of speakers of BrE.

Thank you. I actually did not know that there are pronunciation dictionaries on the net. I checked in the standard Longman dictionary before posting a question as well as in at least five other dictionaries and none provided the /ʃ/ pronunciation.

From what I have found on the internet, these dictionaries seem very useful. I especially like the fact that there is the pronunciation of many proper names, which I often have difficulties with.
