Dear friends

idetic memory vs photographic memory.

I heard 'photographic memory' is not correct. So, how do you call this kind of spelling?

Thanks

Oops! THat's a typo.
I thought it might have been.

But... my point was.. many (most?) people say 'photographic memory' whilst they should've said 'eidetic memory'.
Most people don't know fancy words like 'eidetic'. I think it's as simple as that.

It's a spelling that is not grammatical but people use it.
I'm not sure what you mean by saying the spelling is not grammatical. Spelling doesn't come under grammar. And the spelling of 'photographic' is correct.
If anything, this is a case of using the wrong word - an error of vocabulary. But the Wiki article suggests that that's not even true.

Hmm... it turns out it is grammatical according to this dictionary:

Interesting.
Yes. It's a correct semantic use of "photographic".
You're still using "grammatical" wrongly. Grammar only relates to sentence structure above the word level.
A misspelling or improper use of a word is not a grammar error.
You're referring to a semantic error, or a vocabulary error, or an error in usage of a word.
