Mine or me?

"You are on a level way higher than mine" or "You are on a level way higher than me" ?

I am not sure which one is right.

I don't like either of them. "Your level is a lot higher than mine". (You can use "way higher" if you want - I just don't like it or use it.) If you really want to include "at", I'd say "You're at a much higher level than I [am]".

I'm sure you're right. My concern, however, is that learners might use it in a formal (or exam) setting where it might not be appropriate.

I know that "way cool" has been around for some time. However, learners might very well be aware of the latest trends in usage more than examiners. They should therefore avoid trendy usage.

There's what you need to know for exams, and then there's real life. (It's probably always been that way.
