Now there are seven armoring showrooms, all staffed by sales teams in monogrammed shirts.
What does monogrammed mean?

Hi Beachboy,

Monogram refers to a design combining many letters..
It refers to the print on T-shirts, which are nowadays "monogrammed", meaning have a combination of letters designed on them.

Thanks,
Aishwarya

It's another day of learning for me. I'd always assumed that "monogram" meant only using one letter, hence the "mono-" part! Yet several online dictionaries say that it's a motif combining one or more letters and some say two or more letters.

Is a cypher the same thing?

Is g** such a strong word that you used asterisks, Five? I thought it was milder, more or less like fool. :?:
I don't think it's particularly strong, but I, personally, don't find it very pleasant - I am not sure why. As my remark was intended to be humorous, I did not want to take the chance of offending anybody. Possibly I was over-sensitive.

I see now. Good call.
Thanks for the explanation.

That's fjj- a sensitive g*t is what he is. :-D

Its comparative gentleness is attested by the name of an informal 'organization' composed of fans of Terry Wogan when he was presenting on BBC Radio 2 (hardly a cutting-edge medium): They were called the TOGs - Terry's Old G**s.

I think he once gave an alternate explanation for TOG - "Terry's Old Gals" and "Terry's Old Geezers".
