Hi,

I found a sentence from a book hard to understand: "He looked to him, his mouth set."

What does it mean by "his mouth set"? Is it a closed or open mouth?

Thanks!

To me, it implies a closed mouth with teeth clenched, suggesting some level of determination and severity.

Is "look" followed by "to"? I don't think so.

It can be.

I have heard that English is a language which always ever changes. This may be one of that case.:)
