Hello everybody!
I have always enjoyed travelling by train or streetcar, anything that rolls on rails. Unfortunately, in our little town there are only water trams also known as ferries.
A few days ago, while searching for an article about a handcar (a kind of a trolley that glides over a rail-track thanks to using the power of human muscles) on the Internet, I came across the article "This Man Bikes the Railroad Tracks. Can he do that?"
It is from this article that I chose one sentence. It can be found below and reads as follows:
My face must be conveying an air of trepidation as I gawk at the strange contraption he suggests that I ride.
I understand the above sentence as follows:
When I look stupidly at the strange piece of equipment which/that he suggests that I ride, there must be a trace of anxiety written all over my face.
What do you think?
The reason I used "my" own words as substitutes for the original ones in the sentence was to make sure that I got it right.
