1. My family is an early riser.
2. My family are an early riser.
3. My family members are early risers.

Which sentence is correct here? I know when collective noun indicates unity then it follows singular verb and when indicates individuality then it follows plural verb. But I can't differentiate here either 'My familly' indicating unity or individuality.

Neither of the above is suitable.

Say My family are early risers.

Why did you use "neither"? I thought that if there are more than two options then "none" is the correct choice.

I'll swear there were only two when I answered. I would of course have accepted #3.

Ishmam, did you add #3 a minute or two after you first posted and while I was writing my reply?

Yes, there was two then. After for a while I confused with the the third one. And then 1/2 minutes later I added the third one.

There were two..
After [STRIKE]for[/STRIKE] a while, I confused ? with the third one.
And half a minute later, I added the third sentence.

I think "1/2 minutes later" was supposed to mean "1 or 2 minutes later" not "half a minute later".
