Does this sentence sound natural?

As soon as I met Josha's family, everything came to light.

It depends on the message you are trying to convey. What is the context?

It's an exercise in a book of learning English that we should complete the sentence with the correct choice.
The sentence is: "As soon as I met Josha's family, everything ........ ."

The correct answer (in the book) is "fell into place", but I think that "came to light" can also be a correct answer. So I asked that does it sound natural.

In future, please tell us the name of the book and author.

No.

"Came into light" means "became known". It begs the question "what became known?" I think the phrase leaves the sentence dangling.

No, "came to light" means that. "Came into light" means nothing.

Welcome to the forum, @mmahuii. :)

What were the other choices?

Please remember to give us as much context as possible.

As I said the answer of the book is "fell into place", but I think that "came to light" can also be a correct answer.

If this gap-fill exercise came with no other context, and "came to light" was one of the other options, I have to agree with you, with one reservation - "everything fell into place" (or "it all fell into place") is practically a set phrase whereas "everything came to light" isn't. They would both lead to grammatically correct sentences.

Out of curiosity, are you sure the original used "Josha" as the name, rather than "Joshua"? I've never heard of the former.

Yes.

I think you're saying that 'came to light' was one of a few multiple-choice options. If that's the case, my judgement is that on balance the question fails since the context is too poor to make a choice.

However, in defence of the validity of the question, there is an argument that could be made that the phrase 'fell into place' collocates more strongly with the time phrase 'as soon as' than 'came to light' does. I might guess that this is what the writer perhaps had in mind.

Thank you for correction. "Joshua" is correct.
