My mother got little apprehensive when I reach home late.

Is this correct?

My mother got a little apprehensive when I [STRIKE]reach[/STRIKE] got home late.
If you want to avoid repeating "got", try: "My mother was a little worried when I got home late."

If you want to avoid repeating "got", try: "My mother was a little worried when I got home late."

Why is "reach" not correct?

It is not incorrect but "got" is more common.

It is not incorrect but "got" is more common.

"got" is a past participle whereas "reach" is base form of verb then how both are same and convey the same meaning?

For your original sentence to be correct, you would have needed "reached".
