What does "net" mean? Internet? Does it mean "(dunk/surf) the Internet"?

===================
It's dunk season. Whether it's net or sauce, bring your A-game. Pick up a Spicy Chicken Strips Combo at Jack today and dunk like an All-Star

I think it has something to do with the NBA, which I'm not familiar with. It's probably a wordplay. (I don't think the "net" refers to the "internet".)

It is a play with the word "dunk".

It could mean to dip the chicken strips from Jack into the sauce. Or it could also mean, in basketball, to shoot the ball into the basket (with the net) like an NBA star player in an exhibition game.

Ted's almost right, except that dunking the ball isn't shooting it into the net. It's jumping high enough into the air so that the player can force the ball through the hoop without the ball ever leaving his hand. Often the arm or hands go into the hoop as well, or players hang from the rim. Occasionally the force of the dunk will actually shatter the backboard.

It's considered both a feat of physical prowess as well as dominance, as it's harder to accomplish than simply shooting from a distance.

Hence the word play on 'dunk' - you hold the ball or chicken in your hand as you place it in the net or sauce.

It meant nothing to this BrE speaker. Thanks for the help. :up:
