My name is Andrew Patterson, I'm originally from Cardiff in Britain. I have been teaching EFL for some time now. First in Turkey, but now I'm in Poland.

My interest is in verb patterns and I've got a website called Venn Diagram of the English Verb Patterns which has somehow already found its way onto this site without me posting it.

Its a difficult task to do (its more linguistics than EFL), so I'd appreciate other people's input so that I can get it right. It's being discussed in the Grammar forum.

Where in Poland are you? I'm Polish (living in USA), feel free to ask anything!

Good luck,
Iza

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You asked for corrections of your post, so here it goes:

First of all, do not forget to capitalize 'I', as in "I am", 'English', and the beginning of a sentence.

My major is English, so I study literarure a lot. What kind of opinion are you expecting? What are your plans for future with this major? I, myself, really enjoy this major. If you like reading, analyzing, and writing about literature, you will enjoy it as well.

Hi, I am Dweller, I came to work to US from Russia 4 years ago. I have been practicing English at work and at home ever since. What I learned, though, was that I still had to study to improve. So that I did and still do. When I watch movies I still find a few new words and phrases that I do not quite understand. I joined this forum to ask questions and practice written English in discussions.
I live in Nashville, TN.

You have questions? We have answers.

Thanks alot Ezabilla for the correction ...I just want to ask if this major is difficult to study because I am Arabic but my english you can say is good...and this study will be a kind of distance learning at the open university . my sister had studied this major and she said Its really perfect and now she is an english teacher . She said the most difficult thing is poem and shikspear plays. do you agree with that?? thanks alot for replying .

Hi,

It really depends on what you like and what your interests are. Shakespeare is difficult because of it use of old English, but if you read it for a while you get used to it. Besides, it is not required that you take Shakespeare, so you may end up with only one of his writings. Poetry can be difficult as well, but I would not be thinking of not studying literature because of poetry. I personally enjoy poetry. If you want to study literature go ahead and do it. What can go wrong? If you decide you don't like, that's fine, but you could say that at least you tried.

Good luck,
Iza

Hello...

Hi,

Always searching for new English resources I found your excellent homepage by search engine. I'm sure there will be much to explore for me :D  .

I'm a tutor but also do a lot of study myself. I took English at school for six years and for two more years I was being taught Business English.
Since 2003 I have started to write a summary for German students up to grade 10.

The reason I have joined this board is to improve my skills but also to exchange ideas with other members.

thank you tdol  i woder when I will be good in english ??
Dear Red Rose,
I am an English Major student. I am from UAE. I like studying English very much. I said that it will be very hard, but no it is an enjoyable major. The studying itself is a fun. I have never dreamed to be what I am now. The only fear now is that I won't be able to go abroad and improve my language as I want it to be. So never give up, and as you say "life is hope". You can do it, and more important you love it.
Latoof.

Hi every body,
I am a new member. I joined this wonderful site a week ago. My words are ashamed that they cannot help themselves to find such adjectives to describe how welcomeing people are in here. I am an English major student. I am from UAE, United Arab Emirates. I am studying in the UAE University. I like writing sooooooo much. I won recently the first prize for the fiction, and the second one for the free verse.
I really enjoyed visiting this site.

In reply to tdol
