What does the highlighted text mean?

“He gave the little wicket a tremendous shake, and then bestowed upon it a kick which could have emanated from no leg but a beadle's”.

Only a beadle could kick this way.

A beadle was a parish official in charge of petty criminals, amongst other duties. Dickens leads us to believe that Mr Bumble, the beadle in this novel, is a typical specimen of his profession - a pompous bully, full of self-importance.

He shook the wicket gate violently and then gave it a savage kick that only such an unpleasant man could deliver.
