This suggests that we are not looking at a well-known saying. If there is no context, how did you happen to know it?

I have vague memories of a couple of Robert Sheckleys stories that won't quite gel into a coherent memory. There is the martian tourist visiting earth with the wonderful disguise mnemonic "Nose and toes the same way goes" but his books are awkward to get at in my study

It's a mnemonic the character is using to remember that humans have feet pointing the same way as their nose.

We shouldn't have to research your questions for you. The simple rule should be that the person voluntarily helping you for no reward should not be putting more effort into answering than you into asking.
