Dear all, I'd like to ask about the following sentence.

"He hadn't driven now for some time,not since the day of sickness."

What's the meaning of "not since"here? Thanks so much!
 
Here it means that the person hadn't driven since a particular day. In English, they add "not" in such situations.
 
I would delete the word "now". You need a space after the comma. And I would use a definite article (the) before "sickness".

"Not since" means that he has not driven from the day of the sickness up to the present.
 
The day of sickness doesn't sound natural to me- since he was sick?
