Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

“How do you like this song?”

“Well, it is nothing out the common.”

nothing out of common = nothing special, no great shakes, nothing to write home about

Thanks for your efforts.

Regards,

V

The definition is right but the phrase is wrong. We say "nothing out of the ordinary".
