Hello,

Can anybody recommend me an analogy to the set phrases it is nothing to write home about/it is not up to much?

Thanks a lot

It is not important.
It is no big deal.
It is nothing to be excited about.

I don't recognize "it is not up to much. Is that British?

Nothing special
Nothing to get worked up about
Nothing to lose sleep over

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

Mona: Excuse me, but aren't you Officer Smith?
Officer Smith: Yes, ma'am, I am.
Mona: My whole family thinks that you're a great hero for capturing those two bad guys last week!
Officer: Just in a day's work, ma'am. [UPDATE: See posts #7 and #8.]

Mona: OMG! You're Betty, the woman who saved the child who had fallen into the lake, aren't you?
Betty: Yes, I am.
Mona: Everyone really envies your bravery.
Betty: The lake was small and the water was warm. Anybody would have done the same.

I have just done some googling: apparently it's usually "All in a day's work" in American English, too.

According to Google results, I am one of the (very) few who would say "Just in a day's work" or "Just a day's work."

Learners should, indeed, use "All in a day's work."
