Hi all,

Is there a noun for the verb 'to book', to make a reservation. I mean, a noun that stems form the verb intself. Someting like: booking or else.

Thanks for your quick replies,

I telephoned yesterday to make a booking.
I have a booking for three people at 7pm.
What name is the booking under?

As a general guide, if the word "reservation" (in the right context) is appropriate then you can substitute the word "booking", in BrE at least.

Thanks all.
You have cleared some of mydoubts on their (reservation & booking )interchangeable use.

In the US, you are much more likely to hear "reservation."
