I take 'is getting late' to mean 'is going to be late', which does not work with 'on a regular basis'.

It means I can say:

He is getting late today.

Please refer thread#21. Getting late means "is going to be late". Then why "He is getting late today" is wrong?

I guessed it meant 'he is going to be late' in my post#21 above. I would not say 'getting late'.
