Hi guys,

Please check. "There are several people who get married to the people who are very yonger or older to them" like a guy got married to a girl who was ten years older then him.

The passage is so unnatural and incorrect that it is hard to know where to begin. "Many (unlikely in fact, 'some is better') people marry people much younger or older than them".

I think "many" works just fine.

Is it totally incorrect? I should have used "Younger or older then them?

That would be better.

Is it totally incorrect? Should I [STRIKE]should[/STRIKE] have used "Younger or older [STRIKE]then[/STRIKE] than them?

See above.

Mind you, is ten years really much younger/older?

Even in the developed world, it is not unusual.

There were 13 years between my parents. At the time they married, it was seen as quite a large age gap. Nowadays, I don't think most people would comment on it.

" much younger or older than them" would work. You can't use 'then' there.
"very younger" is wrong. "very much younger" is possible.

It depends how old you are. When you are eighteen, ten years is huge. When you are sixty-eight, ten years is next to nothing. When you are of marriageable age the question becomes cultural.

If you're eighteen and you're thinking of marrying someone ten years younger than you, there's something very alarming going on, which will probably get you arrested. ;-)
