Hello,

Is it possible to use the phrase 'be on good/bad terms' figuratively? I'd like to say the following thing:

Don't lend him your laptop if you want it back safe and sound. He's on really bad terms with computers and digital equipment.

I'd appreciate it if somebody could help.
