[General] Out of office or out of THE office? Why?

Hi there!!

I need help.

What's correct to say: "I'm out of office" or "I'm out of THE office"? Why? Could someone explain please?

I'm intending to write it down on my Outlook but I'm not sure which one is correct...

"The office" because it is a specific office that you are "out of."

Please, look at the sentence below:

"I´m out of the office and may have some delay to contact you." Is it correct? It sounds as if the correct is "I'm out of the office and may have some delay IN contactING you" or "I will be out of the office and I may take a while to answer you." Perhaps this last one souds better... Any suggetions?

You may also want to say whether you will have regular, intermittent or no access to your emails and who they should contact for urgent work matters (i.e. who is standing in for you whilst you are away).

The generic term for this kind of message is an "Out Of Office" reply. That may be where you have heard it without the article. However, the wording of the message should include the article.

I will be out of the office from Monday 7th June until Friday 11th June inclusive and I will have no access to my emails during that time. If you require an urgent reply, please contact my colleague [name + email address].
