J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter series tweeted hours ago:
I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out. Perhaps – and I’m just throwing this out there – the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us. 8/X

The phrase "paper the house with them" sounds particularly of JKR. What does it mean? Does it mean "too many to show you all"?
In addition, what does 8/X stand for?

The threats that JKR received are so many that she could print them out and cover the whole house with them.

What do you mean by sounds particularly of JKR? Do you mean sounds like JKR?

I have no idea what 8/X means.

She could paper the house with them means she could cover the interior walls of every room in the house with them.

I suspect there's also a modicum of hyperbole going on here.

Given that her previous house cost her £2.25million, I think that's a fair assumption. Where she lives now isn't public information, but I doubt she downsized!

It's actually a historical reference.

It was fairly common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for people to cover their walls with newspaper or other scrap paper as a form of insulation, especially before putting down decorative wallpaper. They might also stuff rolled or crumpled paper into some of the bigger spaces.

Of course not everyone could afford to cover it with decorative wallpaper, so some just left the newsprint showing.
