I meant to write "realm of." Sorry.

This thread is not a place to discuss the role of business or government in providing jobs or what is "fair" and to whom.

But COCA has 1073 entries for breads.

It may have all those entries for "breads" but not for "loaves of breads".

There are many different breads in the world but on my table I have three loaves of bread.

I don't care what citations you can find. Like fruits or fishes, you can use "breads" to mean different types of breads.

If you say "I make 10 breads a day" it will be seen as a non-native mistake.

I thought so but I found few examples of real of in COCA like ....the intervention of the external, mechanical, symbolic order " and the Real of the subject as the point where the social-symbolic order fails.

I don't have any disagreement with that point.

I have absolutely no idea what that COCA citation means.

I didn't know that there were different types of bread. So, we use plural when speak about types and loaves we speak about quantity as in the case of fish(not referring loaves for fishes).

I thought it is a best tool for references of collocates but it too has a lot of mistakes.:-(

You might like the BNC better, I do but then I'm British.

Maybe but it has lesser number of entries than COCA.

That's because fewer variations are used or considered correct by BrE speakers.

I think David11 may mean that the database is smaller -100 million words against 425 million in COCA. If so, 100 million is still a lot.

Yes, I meant that but when we search for some rare phrases it(BNC) has only very few entries compared to COCA.
