I sometimes don't know when to use "for" with the verb "to pay".

Can you tell me if these phrases are correct, please?:

-To pay for a flat

-To pay taxes

-To pay a fine

-To pay the doctor or for the doctor

-To pay a share

Can we use 'To pay the doctor or for the doctor' interchangeably?

They have slightly different implications.

'Get whatever help you need - I'll pay for the best doctor you can find' means the speaker won't necessarily be involved in the actual transaction - s/he'll just pick up the bills.

'You get back to work. I'll pay the doctor' means the speaker will actually do the paperwork.
