Hello everybody!

Last Friday I came across "per 100 m against the line of keel sighting". It occurs in GUIDE FOR SHIPBUILDING AND REPAIR QUALITY STANDARD FOR HULL STRUCTURES DURING CONSTRUCTION. Could you help me decipher this phrase. I haven't the slightest idea what it can mean.

There is not so much problem finding the phrase as understanding the meaning of it.

The diagram in the table is self-explanatory. It is a specification stating the tolerance of the straightness of the keel.
The tolerance is the accceptable limit of deviation of the measurement of a manufactured component, in the case the keel of a ship.
The manufacturing process cannot be perfect and small deviations are accepted, within limits.
It is expressed as 50mm per 100m, meaning the straight edge of the bottom of the keel should not run off by 50mm(2") for every 100 m (25mm for every 50m, etc). The line of keel sighting is as shown in the diagram, which is the side elevation of the keel.
