Is the following sentence correct and natural?

Please phone us for arranging the exactly delivery date.

Good effort, Polyester, but you need to change it a little.

Hints:
- You are asking that person to phone you in order for both sides to arrange something.
- Also, "delivery date" is a noun phrase, so do we need an adverb or an adjective to modify it?

Try again and post below.

I guess I'm not supposed to answer that one.

Hi teechar,

I try my best to answer your hints.

Could you please phone us to confirm its delivery date.

Polyester, that is a different sentence!
Let's fix the one you wrote in post #1.

The problems were with "for arranging" and "exactly". You need to change those slightly and your sentence would work. Read my hints above and try again to fix that original sentence.

Please phone us to arrange a exact delivery date.

Is it correct now?

Almost; you certainly got "to arrange" right. Well done.
Now, look at the noun phrase "exact delivery date". Does that refer to a specific date or a general date?

It does refer to a specific date. What's wrong?

Polyester, post the revised sentence below to let us know that you've understood.

Please phone us to arrange the exact delivery date.

Is it correct now?

If it's not correct, i need help or search on the Internet by google until I find a correct answer.

Hi teechar,

I try my best to [STRIKE]answer[/STRIKE] use your hints.

Now, let's look at that sentence. The present simple tense is mainly used for:
1- Habits or routine actions.
2- Stating current facts.
3- To talk about (present/future) arrangements.

Therefore, you can see that "try" needs to be in another tense. Can you guess which tense might work in your sentence?

Is it correct to use present tense?

The present simple is incorrect, as I've explained above.

Please phone us to arrange the exact delivery date.

Is it correct now?

Polyester, you only need to arrange a delivery date. No modifier is necessary.

Polyester, you only need to arrange a delivery date. No modifier is necessary.

The delivery date may be tentative at the time of order of goods. In which case, it is subject to confirmation at a later stage.

Hi teechar,

I try my best. It should be "I tried my best". Because I should use past tense, but present tense is wrong. In this case, I tried my best to do it in the past, one action. Not repeat it again and again.
"I try my best" = It doesn't make any sense. For example, I did something wrong, not success any time. If I use present tense here(i try my best), I'll tell you I am a rubbish. Neither success done anything nor do something good.

Am I correct to understands your explanation to me?
