What is the question which its answer in a dialogue is(Pleased to meet you.)

Re: Dialogue

What is the question to which [STRIKE]its[/STRIKE] the answer in a dialogue is "Pleased to meet you"?

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

First, please check the information in your profile. The standard of your post does not suggest that you could be a retired English teacher.

Please note my corrections above. We don't enclose quotes in brackets. We enclose them in quotation marks.

"Pleased to meet you" is not the answer to a question. It's the response some people give when they are introduced to someone for the first time.

John: Hi. My name's John.
Jane: Hi, John. Pleased to meet you. I'm Jane.
John: Hello, Jane.

Please note that I have changed your thread title.

Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'

Re: Dialogue

It could be a response to How do you do?, which is not a real question, but something said when meeting someone for the first time.
