The answer is B, but I think B.D are both OK.

I think ONLY "so" is correct and "as" is non-native. (At least, not in the English that I hear and use. Perhaps elsewhere, you'll hear that.)

I agree. Actually, I wouldn't feel the need to use any word in that blank. "So much that he..."
