[Vocabulary] pronunciation of 'mentor'

Does it sound normal if someone pronounces the word 'mentor'
as 'men-t-or' ( even like 'men-tour' )rather than 'men-ter'?

I heard talk show host Delilah Rene Luke say like that in her show.

The person who mentors is the MEN-tore in American English. She was a great men-tore when I first got here.

The verb is said menter, with a bit more stress on the first syllable than the second but not hugely so. She's going to mentor me through the first few months.

(That's my regional pronunciation. Others will no doubt vary.)
