I guess this must pop up regularly on this forum but I could not find the exact answer to my question so I venture to ask anew.
Though I found something in this message:

a teacher answers a question

And here's what he says:

"I do believe it's the combination of knowing more words and being able to use them appropriately that gives you that better grasp."

My question is if it is appropriate to use 'properly' in place of 'appropriately' in this sentence.
What about 'correctly'?

Either alternative is fine.
