Dear all:
What is the exact meaning of the words in bold in the following passage? It is from the book The Shah’s Imperial Celebrations of 1971, by Robert Steele, p. 119.

"Upham Pope, who made the following suggestion in 1960: ‘Of course there should not be a single person in Persia during this period who does not have the message of this significant event dramatically brought home to him. It can be a tremendous creator of morale and intense loyalty to the country and of a resolute home to build a future adequate to the promise of its beginnings.’"

Many thanks in advance.

... a strong and solid base upon which to build a future that lives up to the potential promised at its birth.

Does that help?

Whilst I'm sure that jutfrank is grinning like a Cheshire Cat after having such praise heaped upon him, please be aware that there is no need to write a post of any length to thank anyone. Simply add the "Thanks" icon to any response you find useful. (You can find the icon by hovering your cursor over the "Like" button.) This saves time for everyone.

It does save a little time, yes, but at the same time it is nice for us to get some motivational feedback every now and then.
