The first sentence means she has a sales job. (She sells things). The second sentence means she is part of the group of people (a department of an organization) that sells things.

Often, the meaning will be the same. Sometimes, it will not. For example, in the first sentence, she could be self employed; whereas in the second, she is part of an organization. Or, in the second sentence, she might work in the sales department but not have a sales job. Perhaps she's a secretary.
