1) "a semblance of a life" means having the appearance of a life even if it's not quite the real thing. "I wish I had at least some semblance of a life" is usually said by people who, for example, feel they are so busy they don't have time for a proper life.
2) Gabrielle is saying: If you can successfully do it that way (swing that one), then well done and keep it up (more power to you). "More power to you" is often said in an ironic way suggesting that the speaker is still not convinced or impressed.
