sentence 'look forward to.."

a) I look forward to receipt of your account

b) I look forward to receiving your account

Are these sentences correct? I thought when we use "look forward to" we use a gerund.

I thought when we use "look forward to" we use a gerund. Mostly, yes but frequently no.

Both of your sentences are correct, but I prefer b because it flows more naturally.

Please consider:
I look forward to my professor's comments.
I look forward to a favorable response.
I look forward to that very much.
