Hi,

Which is the correct answer of this question?

She was ______ of her notorious family scandal.

a)shameful
b)ashamed
c)shameless
d)shamed

Is the answer "d"?

But you should be able to eliminate two others now. ;-)

I think "a", "c", "d" are possible.

Is "d" the correct answer?

Her grandfather's shameful behaviour scandalised society.
She was ashamed of her grandfather.
The Minister's shameless self-promotion embarrassed his colleagues. "I know we politicians are not known for our sense of modesty", one said, "but he has no sense at all of what the limits are".
His frank acceptance of responsibility for the failure of the company shamed his wife into admitting that she had know something of what was going on.

According to your examples, is "shamed" the answer?

Thanks a lot, five.

In Post #1, you asked if d was the correct answer. In Post #2, I said "No". In Post #4, you asked again if d was the correct answer.
You then appear not to have followed 5jj's links.
Are you carefully reading each answer before asking another question?

Sorry, it's a typo. I am deeply sorry.
