Is the expression "to change colour" meaning "to turn pale/red etc" very common? in English?

As always, please give us an entire sentence using the phrase.

No. We would say instead "She blushed" meaning her face turned red. If you mean her face went white (pale) we would say "She went pale"

Hope that helps.

allenman, your post will be restored when the OP has responded to ems's request.

Please note that you can insert 'Not a teacher' in your signature line to save having to type it every time.

I advise you to omit 'expert'.

It's just something like 'When she heard that awful news, she changed colour'.

That's not natural. If she heard awful news, she might go/turn pale. If she's embarrassed for some reason, she would "go red" or "blush".

If she couldn't breathe, she would turn blue. If her liver failed, she would turn yellow.

Does it mean "turn red" is not natural, if she's embarrassed?
