Please would you correct my mistakes in these sentences.

1. She was eager to show her boss and her colleagues how skillful and qualified she was.
2. It took John months to understand how the system functions and how to adapt to it.
 
Please would you correct my mistakes in these sentences.

1. She was eager to show her boss and her colleagues how skillful and qualified she was.
2. It took John months to understand how the system functions and how to adapt to it.

I can't find anything wrong with either sentence apart from the spelling of "skilful". We remove one of the Ls for the adjective.

In AmE, it is "skillful".
