Mary: Why did you go to London.
Tom: I went there for holiday.
Is 'for' right here? Should Tom say 'on' instead of ‘for’?
THANKS.

There should be a question mark after 'London'.

Tom should say 'I went there for a holiday' or better — 'I went there on holiday'.
