Hello,

What would you understand me if I asked you:

What do you have for snack?

Is it correct?

Thank you

Hi ratón,

First, I understand that you are among friends, since it is a rather infornmal question.

Second, I understand that somebody's asking you what you are having because, depending on what it is, he/she will have the same.

Third: you are (for instance) at somebody's place, and he/she is asking you whether you would like something to eat or drink.

There are probably some other meanings (natives will say), but we would need some more context to know for (more or less) sure

Greetings,

Charliedeut

I would think:
- The person you were asking habitually has a snack, and
- You wanted to know what food the person usually had for this habitually eaten snack.

Child: Every day, when I come home from school, the first thing I do is have a snack.I almost always have the same thing.
You: What do you have for a snack?
Child: A glass of milk and a granola bar.

Not in its present form. Look back at Barb's post. She wrote, "What do you have for a snack?"

What do you have for a snack?
