Hello everyone,

I'm practicing reported speech sentences and I would like ot know if these are correct.

The child said,"I broke the window".
The child admitted that he had broken the window.

A friend said,"I go to the gym on every Tuesday recently."
A friend told me that she goes(went) to the gym on every Tuesday(s) recently.

My friend said,"I moved to Los Angeles and will stay for 3 years."
My friend told me that she had moved to Los Angeles and would stay for 3 years.

A mate said, "I didn't see him at school on that day."
A mate told me that she had not seen him at school on that day.

She said,"Please send an email as I replaced phone and lost your email address."
She asked me that sent an email her as she had replaced phone and had lost my email address.

Thank you for looking at these for me.:)

The child said,"I broke the window".
The child said that he had broken the window. There's no reason to change the verb.

A friend said,"I go to the gym on every Tuesday recently." This is an ungrammatical sentence so a grammatical solution is impossible. Try again.
A friend told me that she goes(went) to the gym on every Tuesday(s) recently.

She said,"Please send me an email as I have replaced my phone and lost your email address."
She asked me to send her an email [STRIKE]her [/STRIKE]as she had replaced her phone and had lost my email address.

Hello Rover,

Thank you for checking my sentences for me.:)

A friend said,"I go to the gym on every Tuesday recently." This is an ungrammatical sentence so a grammatical solution is impossible. Try again.
A friend told me that she goes(went) to the gym on every Tuesday(s) recently.

How about this sentence.

A friend said, "I have been going to the gym every Tuesday recently."
A friend said, "She/He had been going to the gym every Tuesday recently."

Is this sentence better?

Thank you,
Emeraude

Hello Rover,

A friend told me that she goes(went) to the gym on every Tuesday(s) recently.

How about this sentence.

A friend said, "I have been going to the gym every Tuesday recently."
A friend said he/she had been going to the gym every Tuesday recently. (This, I believe, was meant to be the reported speech version so I have removed the quotation marks"

Is this sentence better?

Thank you,
Emeraude

A friend said "I have been going to the gym every Tuesday recently" is much better and I have amended the reported speech version above.

Hello emsr2d2,

Yes, that is correct. I am reporting the second sentence. Thank you for your advice and correction to this sentence. I appreciate your kindness. :)

Thank you,
Emeraude

A friend said "I have been going to the gym every Tuesday recently" is much better and I have amended the reported speech version above.

I would like to add that "I've been to the gym every Tuesday recently" will also be heard and is possibly even more natural.
